Made to Measure FAQ

What does it mean to be “Made to Order” vs “Made to Measure”?

Unless stated otherwise, 100% of our pieces are Made to Order -- Instead of mass producing clothing to sit in a warehouse, we select, inspect and preserve the essential raw materials for all our in-house designed styles to ensure they are always in pristine condition. Once you make a purchase, one of our master seamstresses will then cut the fabric and create your order, specially for you - immaculate and fresh.

Clothing pieces are an important part of your personal artistic expression to the world, and with that, a perfect fit is absolutely important for you. Hence, here at Stolen Stores we offer a “Made to Measure” option available for an additional fee. Instead of choosing one of our standard sizes, you can give us your exact body measurements and we’ll make something that fits you perfectly.

How are my “Made to Order” or “Made to Measure” orders manufactured?

Whether it’s Made to Order or Made to Measure, every Stolen Studios, Onarin and collaboration item you purchase is created by our master seamstresses. We recruit and train our own in-house seamstresses to craft each piece individually, ensuring that your pieces get the care and attention to detail it deserves.

Similarly, for your “Made to Measure” orders where adjustments are made to standard sizes according to your measurements, you can be sure that the original artisans who create these designs will be the ones working on your customized order.

How much does it cost?

The Made to Measure option is an additional $50 USD for each piece you want to customize.

Which pieces have a Made to Measure option?

Unless otherwise specified on the product page, all pieces in our shop can be ordered with the Made to Measure option.

How do I start a Made to Measure order?

Currently, we aren’t able to process Made to Measure orders directly through our web store.

To commission a Made to Measure order, email us at info@stolenstores.com or DM us on instagram (@stolen.stores) and let us know which items you’d like to purchase with the Made to Measure option.

How does the process work?

Once we confirm that the styles and colors you want are available, we’ll collect your measurements (such as bust/waist/hips or other important measurements) and guide you through any other customization options.

When everything has been collected, we’ll send you a custom link to our site to complete your payment.

Then, one of our master seamstresses will begin creating your order. We’ll send you photos as we work on each piece so that you can confirm the measurements before we ship it to you.

How do I get my measurements?

Most orders require 3 measurements: Your Bust, Waist, and Hips. Using a cloth tape measure, take down the circumference of each. Remove your clothes beforehand to ensure accurate measurements.

To measure your Bust:

Place one end of the tape measure at the fullest part of your chest and wrap it around your body, bringing it back to the front. It should go under your armpits and around your shoulder blades. Make sure the tape measure is level.

To measure your Waist:

Wrap the tape measure around your waist and measure at your natural waistline, which is located above your belly button and below your rib cage. If you bend your torso to the side, the crease that forms is your natural waistline. Make sure not to suck in your stomach or it’ll alter the measurement.

To measure your Hips:

Start at one hip and wrap the tape measure around your rear, around the other hip, and back to where you started. Make sure the tape is over the largest part of your buttocks. For best results, use a mirror to ensure the tape measure is level.

For some pieces, we may ask for additional measurements and preferences like dress length or hem type.

For the best accuracy, you can get measured professionally by a tailor near you.
